Such an interesting pair. We have both a cap and breast eagle clearly removed and showing period wear. Not an easy set to find.
Yet another piece I received as a gift some time back and have always held onto. This Afrika Korps trophy is one of my all time favorites. How I wish some things could talk..
This particular example is mounted on black wool and was most likely made in occupied France using a conjunction of gold cellion & bullion. The detail is superb and simply outstanding.
I love the variation in the higher quality private purchase stuff and each is beautifully executed and special in it's own right.
Here we have a black-backed Heer officer's breast eagle produced in silver bullion. You can just barely see the unterlagen present under the bullion thread.
Black wool backing on this army eagle with black accent threads.
Easily the rarest armband I've ever encountered. Extremely heavy and fine quality. Produced in gold bullion for a delegation to Italy in April of 1939.
Who doesn't love the uniqueness of this? I think the symbolism is pretty strong with this one...
This came out of an Estate in England recently and was a gift from a close friend within the hobby. Not only is the piece itself extremely rare but the bullion work is stunning.
